Whoopi Goldberg looked thoroughly unimpressed with Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt on today’s edition of “The View.” The couple had another rough day in the media spotlight.

Spencer blamed others for the couple’s rocky appearance on NBC’s “I’m a Celebrity … Get Me Out of Here!” Spencer said the couple didn’t know what they were getting into and didn’t read the contract. Instead, he said they trusted agents and lawyers.

Goldberg couldn’t stand that explanation. “You better get yourselves together or you’re going to be in the street,” she told the couple who gained fame on “The Hills.” “You’re going to have to take responsibility. You’re too old now. Last year it was cute. Now you’re adults.”

In the strangest passage, Spencer said “Speidi” — the nickname for the newlyweds — is tied with President Barack Obama as the most popular celebrity. “If we lived in the White House, I would say we would be No. 1,” Spencer said.

That comment threw Barbara Walters, who looked sad for the couple. But Joy Behar warned the couple to watch the grandiose statements. Behar asked how Heidi could compare herself to Mother Teresa and be preparing to pose for Playboy.

“I’m more a modern version [of Mother Teresa],” Heidi said. “I can’t confirm that,” she said, adding it was a reputable magazine.

But look for her tasteful pose when the magazine comes out Aug. 15, the couple teased.

Walters wanted to know what the adorable couple would do for the future. Spencer said he lives in the moment. Oh, it was a disaster.
